By confirming your booking with TrustNest Babysitting, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Bookings
- All bookings are subject to availability and will be confirmed once the required deposit has been received.
- A minimum booking duration of 4 hours applies to all services.
- All bookings are provided personally by TrustNest Babysitting and are reserved exclusively for your family for the agreed date, time, and location.
- TrustNest Babysitting reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
2. Rates
- One child: from $40 per hour + $30 booking fee + $20 travel fee per day booked
- Two children: from $45 per hour + $30 booking fee + $20 travel fee per day booked
- Three children: from $50 per hour + $30 booking fee + $20 travel fee per day booked
- Four or more children: price on request + $30 booking fee + $20 travel fee per day booked
- Last-minute bookings (within 48 hours of the booking start time) incur an additional $5 per hour, plus a $40 booking fee and applicable travel charges. Last-minute bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable once confirmed.
- Bookings extending beyond midnight (12am) may incur an overnight surcharge, unless agreed by both parties at the time of booking confirmation, from $75 per hour.
- Rates may vary for multiple-family bookings, special events, or bookings with additional requirements.
3. Booking Fees & Travel Fees
- A booking fee of $30 applies per day and per booking.
- A booking fee of $40 applies to last-minute bookings.
- All booking fees and associated bank transaction fees are strictly non-refundable.
- A travel fee of $20 per day and per booking applies within the Queenstown area.
- For bookings located more than 9km from Queenstown town centre, an additional travel charge may apply depending on the distance required. Any applicable travel fee will be advised at the time of booking. By confirming a booking, the client agrees to pay the stated travel fee in addition to the standard service charges.
- Where parking is required for the sitter to safely and legally attend the booking, the client agrees to cover any parking costs incurred for the full duration of the booking. These fees will be added to the final invoice or must be paid directly to the sitter on the day of the service.
4. Payment Terms
- To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the total booking value is required at the time of booking.
- Bookings are only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
- The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 15 days before the booking date.
- For bookings made within 15 days of the booking date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking.
5. Public Holidays & Peak Periods
For Public Holidays, Christmas, New Year (including 31 December), and special event periods:
- Full payment (100%) is required at the time of booking.
- All payments are non-refundable.
- Public Holiday rates may be charged at time-and-a-half, plus booking and travel fees.
Any applicable surcharges will be confirmed before the booking is accepted.
6. Cancellation Policy
We understand that travel plans can change. The following cancellation terms apply:
- The 50% deposit and booking fee are strictly non-refundable in all circumstances.
- If a booking is cancelled more than 72 hours before the booking start time, any amount paid above the non-refundable deposit and booking fee will be refunded.
- Cancellations made within 72 hours of the booking start time, or no-shows, will be charged at 100% of the booking value.
- Last-minute bookings (within 48 hours) are non-refundable once confirmed and paid.
Cancellations must be made directly by phone during business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Cancellations are only processed during these hours. Any notification received outside these hours will be deemed received at 8:00 am the following calendar day.
7. Health & Safety
The client is responsible for providing a safe environment for both the babysitter and the children during the booking.
The client must inform the babysitter of:
- Any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements
- Emergency procedures and emergency contacts
- Any hazards within the home
- Any relevant behavioural or developmental information
- Accurate contact details and current whereabouts during the booking
TrustNest Babysitting reserves the right to refuse or terminate a booking if the environment is considered unsafe. In such circumstances, the full booking fee will remain payable.
No booking will proceed if anyone in the household is experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, including but not limited to fever, vomiting, flu-like symptoms, or COVID-19.
Should the babysitter become unwell and be unable to attend, every reasonable effort will be made to notify the client as soon as possible.
8. Cameras
- The client must disclose all cameras and monitoring devices prior to the booking and ensure the babysitter is informed of their locations upon arrival.
- Cameras may be used in common living areas only and must not be installed in bathrooms, bedrooms allocated to the babysitter, changing areas, or other private spaces.
- Failure to disclose cameras may result in immediate termination of the booking without refund.
9. Respectful Environment
- TrustNest Babysitting is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for everyone involved.
- TrustNest Babysitting reserves the right to immediately terminate a booking if subjected to abusive, threatening, discriminatory, inappropriate, or unsafe behaviour by any member of the household or guest.
- In such circumstances, no refund will be provided.
10. Liability
- TrustNest Babysitting operates as an independent sole trader babysitting service.
- While all reasonable care and supervision will be provided, TrustNest Babysitting shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, delay, or unforeseen circumstance arising during or in connection with the booking, except where liability cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.
- Parents or guardians retain ultimate responsibility for decisions relating to their children's health, welfare, and wellbeing.
11. Additional Children & Booking Changes
Any additional children, guests, or families not disclosed and agreed upon at the time of booking may result in:
- Additional charges
- Adjustment of hourly rates
- Modification of booking conditions
- Cancellation of the booking if the changes are not accepted in advance
Any significant changes to the booking must be communicated as early as possible.
12. Privacy & Confidentiality
The information you provide through the enquiry form, including contact details and information relating to your children, is submitted securely via Netlify Forms and delivered to TrustNest Babysitting.
This information is used solely for:
- Managing your booking
- Communicating with you regarding your service
- Providing safe and appropriate care for your children
Your information is never sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties, except where required by New Zealand law, where necessary to protect the safety and wellbeing of a child, or where processed by Netlify Inc. solely for the purpose of delivering your submission (subject to Netlify's privacy policy).
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to manage your booking and comply with legal obligations.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing info@trustnestbabysitting.co.nz.
13. Force Majeure
- TrustNest Babysitting shall not be liable for any cancellation, delay, or inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, accidents, illness, natural disasters, power outages, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events.
- In such circumstances, every reasonable effort will be made to reschedule the booking where possible.
14. General
- TrustNest Babysitting reserves the right to update rates, policies, and these Terms & Conditions at any time.
- The Terms & Conditions in effect at the time of booking will apply to that booking.
- By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
